My Story
Born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, I picked up the saxophone at the age of 12 and never looked back. What started as a childhood fascination with the sound of music drifting from my two older brother's record players became a lifelong passion and eventually a career that has taken me across the UK and beyond.
Over the past 30+ years I've performed at everything from intimate cocktail bars in the heart of Newcastle to concerts at the Newcastle City hall, Utilita Arena, The Cluny as well as some of the UK's most prestigious venues, playing with the likes of Ultimate Bowie, Hed Kandi, House Evolution, SaxLife and as the lead vocalist and sax player with Newcastle indie band, Smith&Co, who have released their debut album Everything You Wanted, which is available here on the SaxLife shop and on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
My style blends the classic warmth of jazz with contemporary smooth house, soul and nu-jazz influences. Whether you need something sophisticated and understated for a wedding ceremony, or something that gets the energy up in a cocktail bar at midnight — I've got you covered.
